    bleed

    If you want a print that has background color, image or any other graphics all the way to the end of the paper, you will need to add to your desired print size an extra 0.125” around the edges which is called the bleed area and it will be trimmed off after the printing. For an example the 8.5x11 flyer should be designed as 8.75"x11.25" and the 4x6 postcard as 4.25”x6.25”.

    Below are some examples of full bleed scenarios and an example of the file designed with the bleed.
